IHC orders to provide bulletproof vehicle to ex-CJP Iftikhar

Summary Justice Shaukat Aziz heard the case pertaining to the security of former chief justice Iftikhar.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court has ordered cabinet division to provide bulletproof vehicle to former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry till January 9.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqi heard the case pertaining to the security of former chief justice.

The judge asked the secretary to provide security to former chief justice or else the court would withdraw security of all ministers too.

During the course of proceeding, the petitioner Sheikh Ahsanuddin stated that only four security men were deployed for ex-CJP while joint secretary of cabinet division Ziaul Haq said that a car was sent for some repair work and will comeback within next 15 days.

The court ordered to arrange bulletproof vehicle before January 9 at all costs.

The secretary also said the bulletproof vehicle was granted after the approval of PM on which the Justice remarked that Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry cannot ask the PM for car.
