Taking suo moto notice of a statement made by Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira about the meeting of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif; CJ summoned Attorney General to explain the statement. The hearing of the case will be conducted today.A bench comprising Chief Justice, Justice Chaudhry Ijaz Ahmed and Justice Ghulam Rabbani would hear the case. Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has summoned Attorney General Anwar Mansoor to explain a statement by Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira urging him to take suo motu notice of a newspaper report claiming that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had held a secret meeting with him. Supreme Court Registrar stated in a press release of 12th January 2010 that if anybody has any proof in this regard, it must be presented to the registrar within three days, failing which strict action would be initiated. After this statement, media submitted the record of Kairas press conference to the court.
