FIA has extended the area of investigation into Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) corruption case. The investigation was started after filing a case when huge corruption was found in Canteen Contract. Rs 90 million embezzlement was discovered in the Canteen Contract of the PSM during the year 2008-2009. In 2007, this contract was awarded at Rs 35 million, however, the same contract was awarded for Rs125million in 2009. FIAs Crime Circle Karachi has registered a case under clauses of forgery, embezzlement and anti-corruption act 1947. Charges have been made against former PSM chief Moin Aftab Sheikh, Brig (r) Abdul Qayyum, general manager Iqbal Wazir, deputy general manager Atiq Khan, canteen contractor Muhmmad Aslam and Zahid Ali.
