LAHORE (Dunya News / Web Desk) - The masses took to the streets in several cities against the increase in prices of petroleum and other products.
Rejecting the unprecedented increase in prices of several daily use goods, the people have termed it a callous act of the government with serious implications for the people already reeling under the impact of inflation.
The activists of Jamat-e-Islami staged a protest rally from Chiniot Bazar to Ghanta Ghar in Faisalabad and demanded of the government to withdraw the decision of increase in prices.
A protest was also held in front of Faisal Mosque in Vehari against the hike in petroleum products prices.
Protest rallies were also organized by Jamat-e-Islami, Wahdat-ul Muslimeen and Jamat-ud-Dawa in Hyderabad.
The participants of the rally said that policies of the government were pushing the public to more problems.
Meanwhile, workers of Pakistan Peoples Party protested against the price hike in front of Lahore press club.
The protester shouted slogans against the government.
Addressing the protest rally, PPP leaders Aitzaz Ahsan, Manzoor Watto and Samina Khalid Ghurki said that the real face of the government had been exposed in within a 100 days.
They said that cases should be registered against those responsible for the recent attack of inflation.
The PPP leaders said that the protests will be intensified if the government does not withdraw increase in POL prices.
