United States has offered to mediate for reducing tension between Pakistan and India while stressing the need to take effective action against terrorist groups, reported Dunya News on Monday.Some of the details of US President Barack Obamas letter sent to President Asif Ali Zardari have been uncovered. US National Security Advisor James Jones had carried the letter to Islamabad in mid November. In his letter, President Obama had demanded to take effective action against Al-Qaeda, Afghan Taliban, Haqqani network, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Obama also stressed to act against those elements that cooperate with Al-Qaeda and using Pakistan as safe heaven for planning attacks on NATO and US forces in Afghanistan. President Obama, in his message, also assured Pakistan that US was not planning to exit Afghanistan in near future.
