Summary President Zardari says Pakistan is committed to find a peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue.
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday observed that Pakistanis had been observing ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ on February 5 every year to reassure their unshaken political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris.
He said that our support towards Kashmiris’ just cause for the right of self-determination as enshrined in the UN Charter and the relevant UN Resolutions will continue in the time to come.
In his statement on the event of ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’ President stated that on this day, we also pay tributes to the valiant struggle of our Kashmiri brethren who have been rendering huge sacrifices in the quest for realizing their inalienable right to choose their destiny by themselves.
Kashmiris have remained resolute and steadfast in the face of oppression spanning over six decades. Pakistan believes that the use of force, coercion and violation of basic human rights can never succeed in suppressing an indigenous struggle for a just cause. Their perseverance will bear fruit.
“On this day, I wish to reassure my Kashmiri brethren that Pakistan remains firmly committed to finding a just and peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute. Today, we stand in solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters”, he said.
