RAWALAKOT: Hours after Pakistan army commanders met their Indian counterparts during flag meeting; Indian army once again opened unprovoked firing on Monday afternoon at Battal sector on the Line of Control (LoC) between Pakistan and India near Rawlakot injuring a common citizen.
According to reports the Indian army opened unprovoked firing on Monday afternoon at Battal sector, however it stopped after Pakistan Rangers retaliated. The shooting and shelling continued for several minutes.
The injured person was admitted to Military Hospital for necessary treatment.
Hours before, a flag meeting between commanders of Pakistan army and India forces held at Poonch sector as tension prevailed between two countries after violation of ceasefire on LoC by Indian army.
Pakistan strongly protested against killing of its two soldiers by Indian army and unprovoked firing across LoC.
The tension began last Sunday when the Pakistani army accused India of killing one of its soldiers and wounding another in a cross-border attack.
India said its troops had opened fire following a Pakistani mortar attack, but denied they crossed the border. Four soldiers have been killed in last week. This week marks a peak in hostility since 2003, when the ceasefire was agreed upon.
