Summary Severe cold wave would continue to prevail over upper parts, says PMD.
ISLAMABAD: The severe cold spell sent the mercury plummeting nationwide on Tuesday, with temperatures dropping to their lowest levels in upper areas of the country.
According to Metrological Department, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, severe cold wave would continue to prevail over upper parts of Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours.
Also, dense foggy conditions would continue over plains of Punjab, KP, Sukkur and Larkana divisions.
Ealy morning, the temperature in cities including Fasialabad and Sahiwal lowered to -2°C, Sagodha -1°C and Lahore 0°C.
Lowest temperature recorded in Skardu was -15°C, Astore -14°C, Hunza, Kalam -11°C, Gupis, Parachinar -09°C, Kalat, Dir -07°C, Mallamjabba -06°C, Drosh, Bunji, Rawalakot -05°C, Chitral and Sibbi -04°C.
