RAWALPINDI: US journalists and important witness of Benazir Bhutto murder case Mark Segal has refused to come to Pakistan due to security threats in spite of court summons to record his statement.
After his refusal Special Public Prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar submitted an application in the court on Monday that his statement might be recorded through video conference. He said that the court has a precedent as in memo-gate scandal the statement of Mansoor Ijaz was recorded through video conference.
He told the court that Mark Segal is an important witness and his statement will be imperative in Benazir Bhutto murder case.
The court has issued notices to the lawyers of the accused to appear in the court for cross questioning on the application on 19th January.
