Summary Death toll continues to rise despite tall claims of federal and provincial authorities.

 

KANDHKOT: Measles outbreak has claimed more than 300 lives in interior Sindh including Kandhkot district, Dunya news reported.

 

According to updated figure, 122 children have died in Kandhkot district during last few weeks.

 

In Sukkur 70, Shikarpur 20, Larkana and Thel 16 and two each children from Noshehro Feroze, Hyderabad and Nawabshah died of measles.

 

A special vaccination campaign was launched in various districts of Sindh a couple of days earlier to prevent the measles outbreak  but the crisis seems to be intensifying further.

 

The campaign will last till January 15 during which children will be vaccinated against measles. In this regard, special camps have been set up at basic health centres and dispensaries.
