Summary The Supreme Court has sought a comprehensive report in Karachi unrest case on Monday.
KARACHI:-Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of the case on law and order situation in the metropolis.
While passing remarks during hearing of case, he said that sectarian killings have become hallmark of the day; killers are wandering on bikes without any check but the Sindh government is not taking any pain regarding implementation on court orders.
Chief justice also said that he had received a large number of reports regarding implementation on court orders. Last order had been passed on November 28 but in vain, said Chaudhry.
“What is result of those orders. Have the government followed the judgments issued by the court. Have no-go areas in Karachi come to an end”, consulted the Chief Justice during hearing of the aforesaid case.
Chief Justice said that the government was bound to end no-go areas and set free the police from political hegemony.
Sindh Advocate General told the court the police have been liberated from clutches of politicians.
The Chief Justice while refuting the statement of the Advocate General said, “Your statement is wrong. Police officials are being upgraded on political bases. SPs are directly being recruited in order to watch the interests of politicians”.
Justice Gulzar said that police unscrupulously involve an accused in dozens of murder cases and then claim that they have arrested killer of 100 victims. According to them, only a few killers are involved in heinous crimes.
