KANDHKOT: A deadly measles outbreak in Sindh has left at least 285 children dead, Dunya News reported on Sunday.

According to reports gathered from different parts of upper Sindh, including Sukkur, Ghotki, Kandhkot, Thal and Tangwani, five children lost their lives due to the measles virus in the last 24 hours.

 

At least 117 children have died of measles in Kandhkot - the most affected district of interior Sindh.

 

In Sukkur, 69 children have died while measles claimed 35 lives in Khairpur.

 

The health ministry said that the vaccination process will be completed by January 11.

Meanwhile, the measles epidemic has also affected sixteen children in Sibi, a district of Balochistan.
