Summary Rehman Malik has said that there is a danger of suicide attack during long march of Tahirul Qadri.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik Saturday expressed apprehension that there is a danger of suicide attack during the planned long march of Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
Talking to media in Islamabad‚ the minister said that threats of suicide attacks have been received from Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), adding he said the information regarding terrorist attacks were given by the same sources that threatened late Bashir Bilour.
The Interior Minister has said that he would soon meet chief of Tehrik-e Minhajul Quran Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
He appealed that Islamabad should not be made a battlefield for politics. He‚ however‚ said that the government would welcome Qadri s long march in Islamabad.
Malik said the warning was not meant to spread panic instead it was people’s right to be informed. He said that participants of the march would be welcomed in Islamabad but they should also take into consideration miseries of residents of Islamabad.
Talking about the upcoming elections, he said that all political parties including coalition and opposition parties are agreed that there should be no delay in the forthcoming elections.
The Interior Minister said that general elections would be held on time.
He rejected all reports regarding delay in election and caretaker government beyond 90 days, adding the minister termed all news reports null and void and baseless.
The minister informed that the government has referred money laundering case of Rs 32 million against Nawaz Sharif to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
To a question, Malik said that the Taliban had yet not responded to a call for forming a delegation to hold talks with the government.
He also appealed to the Taliban fighters to renounce violence and give up their arms.
