Summary Mainly cold and dry weather is expected during next 24 hours across the country.

 

The federal capital got freezing temperature late Saturday with minimum temperature recorded 0 degree centigrade, said Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

 

Islamabad airport was closed due to heavy fog. The resident of federal capital witnessed the lowest temperature for the first time in the current winter season and weather condition will remain cold, dry and foggy during next 24 hours.

 

According to synoptic situation, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country and mainly cold and dry weather is expected during next 24 hours.

 

Severe cold wave would continue to prevail over upper parts of Baluchistan, KP and Gilgit-Baltistan.

 

Dense foggy conditions would continue over plains of Punjab, Peshawar &Sukkur divisions, the MET office forecast.
Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country.

 

Foggy conditions prevailed in plain areas of Punjab, KP and Sukkur divisions during last 24 hours.

 

Minimum temperature in the country was recorded in Skardu where mercury fell to -13 degree centigrade. Minimum temperatures in other cities was: Astore -12, Quetta and Kalam -11, Hunza and Parachinar -10, Katat -09, Gupis and Gilgit-08, Dalbandin, Dir and Malamjabba -06,Rawalakot -05, Drosh and Bunji -04, Sibbi, Chitral and Murre -03, Lahore, Faisalabad and Muzaffarabad 1 and Karachi 10 degree centigrade.
