The government is to declare Friday a national holiday in honour of the Prophet Mohammed, officials said Wednesday, in response to a US-made film deemed insulting to Islam.The cabinet decided to make Friday an official day of expression of love for the prophet after discussing the Innocence of Muslims movie, which has triggered more violent protests across the Islamic world, a senior government official told.Moreover government will summon US diplomat over the anti-Islam film.The federal cabinet in its special meeting strongly condemned the release of sacrilegious film.The federal cabinet session was chaired by PM Raja Pervez Ashraf.Suspending the usual issues earlier decided to be taken up, the cabinet reviewed the situation after the release of sacrilegious film.Condemning the anti-Islam film, the cabinet decided to summon US envoy to foreign office to register their protest.The cabinet also decided that PM Raja will address the nation over the issue.Addressing the session, PM Raja said that a strict notice of the film has been taken and all relevant websites including YouTube have been blocked.He asked the nation to register their protest in a peaceful manner and restrain from damaging their own properties.During the session, he apprised the cabinet about his recent visit to China and said they exchanged views on economic cooperation and investment in Pakistan. He said we also discussed the maintenance of Karakurram highway and defence sector.The Prime Minister said he had ordered an investigation on the import of diseased sheep in the country.
