Summary

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has moved a privileged motion in the National Assembly Secretariat against the statement of President Asif Ali Zardari on General Pervez Musharraf, Dunya News Wednesday reported. The statement was moved by MNA Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary and others. Ninety MNAs have signed the motion. The motion maintains that the parliament was not taken into confidence on giving safe exit to General Musharraf which shattered its dignity. The motion states that Pakistan is an independent and sovereign country, adding that the names of all those international forces be disclosed who gave guarantee to give safe exit to the former president. Earlier, President House had refuted President Asif Ali Zardaris statement after two days. Presidential Spokesman Farhatullah Baber told Dunya News that President Zardari had given no statement on giving safe exit to Pervez Musharraf. Baber maintained that President Zardari had said nothing about international guarantees on Musharrafs resignation. President Zardari had just said that various political leaders were consulted on Musharrafs resignation, spokesman elaborated. Baber claimed that statement attributed to President was incorrect. Two days ago, President Zardari had told columnists that international and local forces gave guarantee to give safe exit to Musharraf, adding that he was also part of the negotiations.
