Mohmand Agency Commandant Colonel Saifullah says that 80 percent area of the agency has been cleared while 300 militants were killed and 800 surrendered during last one year. Giving briefing to the media at Ghalnai Headquarter of Mohmand Agency, the colonel maintained that security forces hadnt forced local tribal to make lashkar against militants. Tribals have formed lashkars with their own consent, Saifullah stressed. He informed that real problem at the time lied in Kannar, an area in Afghanistan which is adjacent to the agency. He told that terrorists were being provided with money and arms form Kannar. He revealed that 20 officials had been martyred and 45 injured so far in operation in Mohmand Agency. The colonel said that 150 militants had been arrested. A loss of Rs 2.29 billion has been estimated in Mohmand Agency, the colonel concluded.
