Summary SC orders government to clearly state in next hearing that how much amount they can pay to IPPs.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani on Wednesday heard the case of delayed payments to Independent Power Producer’s (IPP).During case hearing, Hamid Khan, the counsel of IPP, said that government had to pay Rs62 billion dues to the IPP’s.Irfan Qadir, the attorney general of Pakistan, said that the government had only Rs 38 billion dues to pay.The court directed the AG to ask the government to clarify its position that how much money they could pay to the IPPs.Later, the bench adjourned the hearing till July 13.
