At least 15 Taliban militants have been killed by the security forces in scattered gunbattles across the northwestern Swat Valley on Monday and recovered arms from their possession. Soldiers looking for militants after Sundays attack on Mingora police training center which claimed 17 lives, encountered resistance in several areas, and battles that raged into early Monday left 30 dead.Separate army statement Monday said 15 more militants were killed in security sweeps of five other areas over the previous 24 hours and two soldiers were injured. Also, a major security operation has also been launched against the militants in Bara tehsil of Khyber agency, and curfew was imposed in the area.
