PML-N has handed over the 18th and 19th amendment draft to the government while PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif says that elimination of the 17th amendment is necessary for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. During a consultation session of the PML-N in Jati Umra, the legal aspects of 18 and 19th amendments were discussed. The session decided that all the clauses in 17th amendment except decreasing the voters age, addition in the National Assembly seats, reserved seats for women and separate electorate should be eliminated. Under the 19th amendment the increase in judges number and the procedure for their appointment would be devised. The points of Charter of Democracy will be made basic for this amendment. Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N would support every such step of the government that aimed at doing well to the people. He said that former president Pervez Musharraf violated the law and constitution for which he should be punished. He said that all the political parties would be taken into confidence over the issue. Sharif condemned the Gojra incident, adding that the Punjab Government would continue to help victims till their complete rehabilitation. He said that stern action would be taken against the responsible.
