Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said that elimination of the 17th amendment is necessary for strengthening democracy and democratic institutions. He was presiding over a consultation session in Jati Umra. He said that former president Pervez Musharraf violated the law and constitution for which he should be punished. He said that all the political parties would be taken into confidence over the issue. Sharif condemned the Gojra incident, adding that the Punjab Government would continue to help victims till their complete rehabilitation. He said that stern action would be taken against the responsible.
