Situation in Gojra is still tense after a clash between two groups. Rangers are patrolling in the area while police arrested above 100 people besides registering a FIR against 16 identified and 800 unidentified people. Fear has gripped Gojra, a tehsil of Toba Tek Sing, after a clash between two groups which is continuing for the third consecutive day. Police has picketed at sensitive spots. In firing and clashes 19 people including a DSP and TMO were injured. Seven bodies have been recovered from above 100 burnt houses. The relatives of deceased protested on the railway track for not being provided with the copy of the FIR. They announced that they wouldnt bury the bodies until provided with the FIR copy. Senior Provincial minister Raja Riaz, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Minorities Affairs Minister Kamran Michael also visited the city and held negotiations with the representatives of both the group. IG Punjab has suspended Gojra DSP Raja Ghulam Abbas for failing to control the situation. He also ordered an inquiry against Gojra DPO. Lahore High Court has appointed District and Session Judge Faisalabad as Inquiry Officer to inquire into the incident. CM Shahbaz Sharif announced Rs 0.50 million each for the families of the dead.
