Imran Khan praised as fearless and principled
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Renowned actor Javed Sheikh recently expressed his admiration for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, hailing him as a fearless and courageous leader who unwaveringly stands by his principles.
In a television programme, Sheikh shared his long-standing association with Khan, dating back to 1995, and commended the politician for his unwavering commitment to his values.
During the interview, Javed Sheikh revealed that he had been associated with the charitable organisation Shaukat Khanum, founded by Imran Khan, since its inception. He highlighted Khan's fearlessness, recounting an incident where the PTI chairman swiftly dismissed an individual seeking personal favours for the organisation.
According to Sheikh, Khan's principled stance resonated with him, appreciating the fact that he did not compromise on his beliefs.
The veteran actor further elaborated on his relationship with other prominent political figures in Pakistan, including former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
Sheikh recalled a heartwarming encounter with Nawaz Sharif during the filming of his movie in Bhurban in 1995. The former premier extended an invitation to Sheikh for lunch, and their friendship blossomed from there.
Sheikh expressed gratitude for Nawaz Sharif's continued support, noting that the politician would take time out from his busy schedule to attend important events, such as offering condolences on the actor's father's demise.
Speaking about Asif Zardari, Sheikh described him as a "friend of friends," highlighting the amicable bond they share.
The actor's statements underscored the respect and recognition he has received from the three major political figures in Pakistan – Zardari, Nawaz Sharif, and Imran Khan.
