Philippines Catriona Gray wins Miss Universe 2018
Second time a Filipina won the title for her country in three years.
(Reuters)- Philippines Catriona Gray draped in red wins the Miss Universe 2018 pageant on Monday Dec 17.
The 24-year-old Filipino-Australian model won the 67th Miss Universe pageant, second time a Filipina won the title for her country in three years. "My heart is filled with so much gratitude," Gray said. "There were moments of doubt where I felt overwhelmed and I felt the pressure," she added.
Miss Spain, Angela Ponce, made waves as the first transgender contestant in the 66-year-old pageant, Miss South Africa, Tamaryn Green, was the first runner-up, followed by Miss Venezuela, Sthefany Gutierrez.
This is the fourth time a Southeast Asian country claimed the international beauty pageant, Philipines has previousely won the title in 2015,1973 and 1969.
