Zoya Akhtar's upcoming flick Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt
(Web Desk) – Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt rocked a hijab avatar for her role in the upcoming movie titled Gully Boy opposite Ranveer Singh.
The film, directed by Zoya Akhtar, stars both Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film shooting started a few days ago when fans saw the first look of their characters.
While Alia wore a hijab and traditional suit symbolising to be Muslim, Ranveer posed in jeans and shirt with short hair. The story of Gully Boy is inspired from the lives of Vivian Fernandes or Divine and Naved Shaikh or Naezy, the two street rappers.
The story of Divine and Naezy will be depicted on the big screen through drama and comedy. The film went on the floors and shooting started in the slums.
Talking to Indian media, Alia responded to a question about how she felt to work with Zoya saying, "It is a new space for me and I wanted to work with Zoya Akhtar ever since I saw Luck By Chance."
About Ranveer, she said that he is crazy and unabashed. “Both of us are passionate about our films … we have done some mad commercials together so it s great to be in a film,” she added.
Ranveer, on the other hand, called Zoya a very dear who is special in his life not only as a collaborator but also as a person and director.
The release date of Gully Boy is yet to be announced.
