Sushant Singh Rajput has been reportedly finalised for the role of Dalip Singh Rana

(Web Desk) – Every child who grew up watching World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is well-aware of The Great Khali, an Indian wrestler who entered the big-budget wrestling show on TV and rose to fame owing to his big height and unusual might.

It didn t take long for Dalip Singh Rana to become famous in the United States (US) as he featured in battles with the already popular WWE stars including John Cena, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, Batista, Kane, Mark Henry and others. However, most people in India are unaware of the story behind the making of this giant wrestler. For instance, it is less known that he was an officer of Punjab state police and struggled a lot before making into WWE. Not many people from this part of the world have gained popularity in the US for their wrestling style.

To communicate the story of The Great Khali, producers in India have decided to make a movie out of him. The biopic of Dalip Singh Rana has been finalised. Bollywood has recently featured numerous biographies of famous cricketers, mainly Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni. Athletes and people from the showbiz are also discussed in documentary movies.

Indian media reported that Sushant Singh Rajput will play the main lead in The Great Khali biopic. He had earlier played the role of MS Dhoni, which was applauded by the masses. Sources within the Indian cinema revealed that the 31-year-old was approached by the filmmakers and he has agreed to their terms. He showed excitement to act as a Punjabi wrestler living in Indian suburbs.

It is interesting to note why Sushant was selected as the main lead. He is neither seven feet tall nor weighs 157 kilograms. Although, the Bollywood star has a good shaped body which resembles that of bodybuilders. The production team will have to use advanced techniques like CGI and VFX to make Sushant look like The Great Khali.
