Emmy nomination for two Pakistani film makers

(Web Desk) – Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Mohammad Ali Naqvi have been nominated in this year’s 38th Annual News and Documentary Emmy awards that were announced on July 25.

A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness has earned three nominations in the categories of Best Documentary, Outstanding Short Documentary and Outstanding Music and Sound.

Obaid-Chinoy has already won six Emmy awards in the past for her documentaries, one for Pakistan’s Taliban Generation and five winners for Saving Face documentary.




Among the Believers directed by Ali Naqvi is nominated in the category Outstanding Politics and Government Documentary. The documentary has been banned in Pakistan, and has already won two awards in New Zealand.

38th Annual news and documentary Emmy awards were announced on July 25, the awards will be presented on October 5.
