Summary For Abhay, fairness products are not the way to be for any Indian
(Web Desk) – Abhay Deol who set out to make a mark in Bollywood on his terms is not taking chances with his not-a-sellout reputation.
In his latest move against the popular culture that for many doesn’t count as the benchmark, he belittled Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor , Vidya Balan, Ileana D cruz and Sonam Kapoor among all celebs who endorse fairness skincare products.
According to the youngest of all popular Deols, fairness products are not the way to be for any Indian or for that matter any human as they can do much better than think of themselves as beings in need of being beautified.
In a series of Facebook posts, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ actor criticised the endorsements and the star names attached to them.
“There s a lot more of these campaigns that are blatantly, and sometimes subtly, selling you the idea that whiter skin is better than darker skin. No one at the top of their game in any field is going to tell you that it is demeaning, false, and racist,” a post read.

Sonam Kapoor, Deol’s ‘Aisha’ co-star took to Twitter following his post against her endorsing need of fairness for Indians and cited a like campaign cover of Esha Deol, his cousin.
A calm Abhay responded to the spat-provocation by responding that his cousin’s endorsement does not change his views.
In reply, Sonam Kapoor, who later deleted all her tweets, immediately voiced her support for Deol and offered an explanation for her Loreal campaign. She had shot the campaign around ten years ago when she did not know the ramifications, a tweet read.

To guage where Abhay’s mind works, Anil Kapoor’s statement comes to use. During ‘Aisha’ shoot, a project helmed by the Kapoor family, Anil once stated that he has had discussions with Abhay over the choice of his films which is clearly not ‘massy’ however, he is adamant and would not change.
Abhay has brazenly spoken against procreation as he says the world does not need more of us for now at least.
‘Dev D’ actor is the only one to have come out of a conservative Deol household helmed by his uncle Dharmendra to accomodate himself in a live-in relationship that he strongly endorses.
