Summary Mixed emotions cloud twitter after the screening of Indian films has resumed in Pakistan

LAHORE (Web Desk) – There has largely been a mixed response to the lift of ban on screening Indian movies in Pakistan. Some people have hailed the decision while others are furious.

No wonder Indian actors have welcomed the ban lift saying that the outcome will be beneficial for both countries. In this respect, Bollywood performers including Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Kajol have admired the role of Pakistani cinema owners.

The Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra who has also worked in a few Hollywood ventures commented, ““Art should go across the world. I have always believed that. So, I am glad about it.”

Another Bollywood actress Kajol admired the development by welcoming it as a positive sign. While admitting to the financial and business concerns of the movie makers and distributers, celebrities in India have largely shown good vibes. During the tensions between India and Pakistan, Kajol s husband Ajay Devgan had told media, "Pakistani artistes are good, but we have to show solidarity with our soldiers."

However, a Twitter trend in Pakistan suggests exactly the opposite. People are constantly tweeting on hashtag #BanBollywood. Some have even gone as far as to declare that Indian media projects propaganda through their movies in the neighboring nation.

Interestingly, the ban on screening Bollywood movies has been lifted just before the mega releases like Raees and Dangal which star Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
