LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday has dismissed the plea seeking ban on the display of Indian movies in Pakistan.

The plea, registered by local producers and distributors, challenged the exhibition of Bollywood films in Pakistani cinemas.

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah conducted the hearing of the case during which, the plaintiff told the court that showing Bollywood films in Pakistan is against import policy 2013 and motion pictures ordinance 1979.

The claimant said that it is also promoting lawlessness and violence in the country and further urged the authorities to ban presentation of Indian entertainment material in national cinemas.

Subsequently, the court has disposed of the plea by directing the petitioner to approach relevant forum.
