Suspected robber held after 'encounter' with police

MIRPUR MATHELO (Dunya News) - A police encounter took place here on Sunday night in which a robber was arrested after he sustained wounds, whereas his two accomplices escaped.

Police at Belo Police Station in Mirpur had an encounter with armed suspects on Link Road.

Weapons were recovered from the possession of the arrested robber. Two robbers managed to escape.

Police officials said the arrested robber, Wajid Ali, was wanted in many cases including a police encounter. An action has been initiated to arrest the escaped robbers.

LANDOWNER ARRESTED FOR KILLING GOAT

Meanwhile, in Chak 441 Six R area of Bahawalnagar, a landowner killed a goat with an axe. The goat of a labourer entered the landowner's field. The landowner cut the goat's throat. A case was registered against the accused on the complaint of the labourer. Police have arrested the accused.
