Summary Ichhra jeweller Sheikh Waseem allegedly fled with 20kg gold after deceiving partners; traders seek FIR while police deny theft claims.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - A major alleged fraud has surfaced in Ichhra, where a jeweller reportedly disappeared with 20 kilograms of gold belonging to fellow jewellers.

The accused trader, Sheikh Waseem, is said to have collected the gold — valued at millions of reupees — after gaining the trust of his business partners.

According to the complainants, Waseem informed them that his sister-in-law had passed away and travelled to Karachi. Days later, they learned he had also sold his house before leaving.

The affected jewellers have submitted an application for registration of a criminal case. However, a police spokesperson stated that claims of gold being stolen or missing are “contrary to facts.”
