Chief Minister Sohail Afridi visits Police Lines
PESHAWAR (APP) - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi visited Police Lines on Monday, where he formally handed over newly purchased bullet-proof vehicles, modern weapons, and security equipment to the police force.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police were provided with drone cameras, anti-drone guns, anti-drone systems, thermal cameras, jammers, bullet-proof jackets, ballistic helmets, armored vehicles, sniper rifles, Dragunov rifles, M-16s, sub-machine guns, heavy machine guns, and other modern equipment.
During the briefing, it was said that thermal weapon sights and thermal binoculars would make night surveillance more effective, while bullet-proof vehicles and side-armoring would make police movement safer.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister paid tribute to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and Special Branch for their effective role in combating terrorism and bravely facing current challenges.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said that the spirit of the police force is high, and they are playing a frontline role shoulder to shoulder with other security forces.
He added that the current provincial government is making every effort to make the police force invincible, and more weapons and facilities will be provided to help them deal with the present situation.
The Chief Minister said that the police and security forces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have made unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism.
He said that when we talk about 80,000 martyrs, thousands of them belong to the police and security forces.
The Chief Minister assured that peace will be restored in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and will be maintained at all costs.
Earlier, the Chief Minister laid flowers at the Martyrs’ Monument, and upon his arrival at Police Lines, a smart contingent of police presented a salute. He also conducted a detailed inspection of the security equipment and bullet-proof vehicles handed over to the police.
