CTD Punjab arrests 21 suspects
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Counter-Terrorism Department Punjab took action and arrested 21 suspected persons.
According to the spokesman, CTD Punjab conducted 43 intelligence-based operations in different districts of the province to effectively deal with any untoward incident of terrorism. He said that during these Combing Operations, 2453 persons were checked, Biometric verification was made of 894 persons, 46 hidden places were checked while 13 FIRs were registered and 21 suspected people were arrested with weapons, explosives and other prohibited materials. They belong to various banned religious organizations, he added.
The spokesman said that 510 grams of explosives, one pistol with 30 bores and 4 bullets, and one Rifle with 44 bores and bullets, he said and added that the suspected persons had planned to sabotage the province and wanted to target important installations and other religious places.
