Bangladesh names Kamal for top ICC post

Bangladesh cricket board has named Mustafa Kamal as candidate for the post of ICC vice-president.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in an emergency board meeting Wednesday unanimously approved the name of AHM Mustafa Kamal as its nominee for International Cricket Council (ICC) president.Former chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ijaz Butt had withdrawn their claim in favour of Bangladeshs candidate.The PCB officials comprising M Zaka Ashraf, Chairman and Subhan Ahmad, COO, met Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) members in their Dhaka office at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.In the meeting between the two boards the nomination for ICC President was also discussed. As per ICCs rotation policy, it is PCB and BCBs turn to jointly nominate a president. The nominated president will assume office as ICCs vice president at the end of ICCs annual conference in 2012 and will thereafter become ICC president in 2014.
