Summary "How could the cricketers, who played so well in the entire tournament, not perform in the final"
(Web Desk) – Indian social justice and empowerment minister has alleged skipper Virat Kohli, senior player Yuvraj Singh and the team of fixing the final match of Champions Trophy 2017 last Sunday.
NDTV Sports quoted the minister, Ramdas Athawale: "How could the cricketers, who played so well in the entire tournament, not perform in the final match (in London on June 18)?"
"In the match against Pakistan, someone like Virat Kohli who scores a century so often and other accomplished players like Yuvraj Singh who have scored so many runs in the past, looked like they were playing to lose," said the Maharashtra lawmaker, NDTV reported.
Pakistan lifted the trophy for the first time in title’s history last month after outplaying India in The Oval. Sarfraz Ahmad-led Pakistan handed a 180-run defeat to Khli and the “blue” boys.
