Summary No batsman goes out there to throw his wicket: Kohli
WEB DESK –After the crushing defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of ICC Champions Trophy, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli has defended his team’s poor show.
Pakistan compteley outclassed their opponents in all the three departments of the game as they clinch the title after an 180-run win with 117 balls to spare.
In a post-match media talk at the Oval, Virat Kohli expressed his views in the following words,
"We tried our best but Pakistan outplayed us in all departments of the game. It’s no shame losing to a better team."
The poor show of Indian side was bashed so badly by the cricket lovers back home as India faced a humiliating defeat against their arch-rivals at the Oval in final.
Kohli professed that he was proud of team’s performance in the Champions Trophy and reiterated that results can’t be guaranteed.
While talking about throwing his wicket away in the final despite being given second life a ball earlier; Kohli expressed,
"No batsman goes out there to throw his wicket, no bowler wants to give away runs. It was a bad day in office for us and we must accept this loss and move on."
"Obviously your best effort is to try and do it every time, but cricket is not about doing well in every game that you play. You will have failures, and one team has to lose on the day, and today was our day to lose because the opposition played much better than us," Kohli added.
