(Web Desk) – Pakistani champ of Champions Trophy 2017 fame, Fakhar Zaman has accredited former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum for his successful debut in the big tournament, cricktracker.com reported on Sunday.
crictracker.com quoted Zaman talking to cricket.com.au, “The first time I met him (McCullum), he saw me batting and he told me ‘Fakhar, you’ll play all our matches, but ensure you play this (style of) game everywhere.”
It should be mentioned here that McCullum had played alongside Zaman for Lahore Qalandars during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017.
“I learnt a lot from him. And I saw him the other day after my debut and he’s said me so many things that are working for me. All of the Qalandars really enjoyed playing with him,” Zaman said.
Pakistan outshone India on Sunday in the final match of Champions Trophy 2017 as the arch rival was thrashed by eight wickets.
Cricketers from across the sporting circles hailed Pakistan’s performance against India as the best in the tournament.
