KP, Balochistan budgets for FY2021-22 to be presented today

It has been proposed in KP budget FY2021-22 to fix Rs 21,000 as the minimum wage for the laborers.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget for the next fiscal year 2021-22 will be presented in provincial assembly in Peshawar today.

KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra will present the budget proposals after the approval of the provincial cabinet. The estimated budget is proposed to be more than one thousand billion rupees. Over Rs 370 billion have been proposed for development projects in the budget.

Rs 250 billion for settlement districts whereas Rs 120 billion are proposed to be set aside for tribal districts. 25% increment for government employees from grade 1-19 whereas 10% increment for government employees from grade 19-22 has been proposed in the budget.

It has also been proposed in the KP budget FY2021-22 to fix Rs 21,000 as the minimum wage for the laborers. Rs 89 billion in foreign aid, Rs 36 billion for tribal districts under AIP, and Rs 75 billion for high-impact schemes in ADP are propsed to be included in the budget.

It has also been propsed in the budget to include liver transplant and OPD in the health card as well as provision of kisaan card (farmers card) and ration card for poors.

On the other hand, Balochistan budget for the next fiscal year 2021-22 will also be presented in provincial assembly in Quetta today.

Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi will present the budget proposals after the approval of the provincial cabinet. The estimated budget is proposed to be more than 500 billion rupees.

Government employees’ salaries are expected to be increased by 25%. The opposition has demanded the government to postpone the budget for five days.
