Rupee gains 9 paisa against USD
The greenback closed at Rs153.36
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The exchange rate of US Dollar weakened by 9 paisa in the interbank on Monday against Pakistani rupee.
The greenback closed at Rs153.36 on first business day of the week compared to previous closing of 153.45.
The greenback has lost 15.07 rupees or 9.37 percent of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
Meanwhile, the price of euro depreciated by 1.31 rupees and closed at Rs184.54 against the last working day’s trading of Rs185.85, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.4, whereas a decrease of 1.76 rupees was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs212.2 as compared to its last closing of Rs213.96.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by about 3 paisa each to close at Rs41.75 and Rs40.9 respectively.
