Because of the inefficiency of the government, sugar mafia once again came into action as sugar is being sold at Rs105 per kg in few cities. Sugar mafia has created artificial shortage of the commodity in the market. Due to which, sugar price increased by Rs 10 per kg and reached at unprecedented rate of Rs 105 per kg. On the other hand, the government seems helpless to control the price. It is feared that by Eidul Azha it would shoot up to Rs120 per kg due to the manipulation of the influential lobby of the sugar mills owners.
