According to the chief minister, the resort features modern hospitality facilities, dining options and panoramic terrace views, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic surroundings while experiencing the region’s unique wildlife.

One of the major attractions is the endangered Indus River dolphin, a rare freshwater species known for its distinctive ability to navigate the river despite having extremely limited eyesight. The dolphin, locally known as the Bhulan, is among Pakistan’s most important wildlife species and is considered an indicator of the health of the Indus River ecosystem.

The resort is expected to attract families, nature enthusiasts and domestic tourists while creating greater awareness about the conservation of the Indus dolphin and its natural habitat.

The development also reflects Punjab’s efforts to diversify tourism beyond traditional historical and cultural destinations by promoting eco-tourism and nature-based travel.

Taunsa Barrage, located on the Indus River, is an important water infrastructure and ecological area, making it a significant destination for wildlife enthusiasts and visitors interested in exploring southern Punjab.

The new resort is expected to put Kot Addu on the tourism map while offering visitors a distinctive riverside experience.
