Polling begins in AJK assembly constituencies LA-27, LA-28 after weather delay

Polling in the two constituencies was originally scheduled for August 2 but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) - Polling began on Tuesday at 54 polling stations in LA-27 and LA-28 constituencies of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly.

According to the Election Commission, voting started in the morning and will continue uninterrupted until 5pm.

Polling in the two constituencies was originally scheduled for August 2 but was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

The latest polling follows earlier election results in which the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) secured 23 seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) won nine seats.

The Election Commission said the third phase of the AJK elections is scheduled to take place in the Poonch Division on August 10.
