Peshawar introduces new merit criteria for doctors recruitment

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa introduces new merit system for doctors recruitment, assigning 60 percent weightage to academics and enhancing transparency in selection process.

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has introduced a new merit criteria for the recruitment of doctors.

According to a newly issued notification, 60 percent weightage will be given to academic marks in the recruitment process.

The notification states that candidates will receive an additional 20 percent marks for higher education, while 20 percent marks have been allocated for interviews, making the total score 100.

To enhance transparency, a new grading system has also been introduced, under which marks will be distributed based on first, second, and third division degrees.

Furthermore, candidates holding one, two, or three additional degrees will be awarded 10, 15, and 20 marks respectively.

The new merit criteria for doctors’ recruitment has been implemented with immediate effect.
