KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan has moved closer to launching an environmentally friendly energy project, as preparations to produce LNG from methane gas have entered their final phase.
According to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, work related to the recycling of gas at the Sachal Gas Processing Complex is nearing completion.
The project aims to recover hydrocarbons from gas emissions released by the facility. These recovered hydrocarbons will then be used to produce liquefied natural gas (LNG), contributing to more efficient energy utilisation.
In addition to LNG production, the facility will also generate food-grade carbon dioxide for use in various industries.
The company further stated that financing for this environmentally friendly initiative will be arranged through a combination of bank loans and sponsor support. A joint agreement for the Sachal Gas Processing Complex has already been finalised.
Officials believe the project will not only enhance energy efficiency but also support sustainable industrial development in the country.
