ABU DHABI (Web Desk) – The United Arab Emirates has announced an increase in fuel prices for April 2026, reflecting rising global oil costs and ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

According to the latest update, fuel rates will come into effect from April 1. Super 98 petrol will be priced at Dh3.39 per litre, up from Dh2.59 in March. Special 95 will rise to Dh3.28 per litre from Dh2.48, while E-Plus 91 will cost Dh3.20 per litre compared to Dh2.40 previously. Diesel prices will also see a sharp increase, reaching Dh4.69 per litre from Dh2.72.

Fuel prices in the UAE had already edged up in March, reversing a two-month decline. The country has followed a deregulated pricing policy since 2015, linking domestic fuel rates to international market trends.

The latest hike comes amid a surge in global oil prices, largely driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East, including conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. These developments have raised concerns over supply disruptions, particularly after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route through which a significant portion of the world’s oil supply passes.

Analysts note that the ongoing instability and attacks on energy infrastructure in the region have intensified supply fears, contributing to the upward pressure on fuel prices worldwide.
