The tribunal declared the petition inadmissible and rejected it, thereby confirming Attaullah Tarar’s election victory.

LAHORE (Muhammad Ashfaq) - The Election Tribunal has upheld the electoral victory of Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar from NA-127, dismissing a petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Zaheer Abbas Khokhar.

The case was heard by Judge Rana Zahid Mahmood at the Lahore Election Tribunal. Zaheer Abbas Khokhar had challenged Tarar’s victory, arguing that the notification of his win was issued contrary to the facts and that large-scale rigging took place in the constituency, with what he claimed were clear pieces of evidence.

However, during the proceedings, Barrister Haris Azmat, representing Attaullah Tarar, argued that the petition was not maintainable. He stated that the documents attached with the petition were not authenticated and that procedural requirements were not fulfilled at the time of filing. Therefore, the case should not proceed.

After hearing all arguments, the tribunal declared the petition inadmissible and rejected it, thereby confirming Attaullah Tarar’s election victory.
