PSL 11: Rawalpindiz opt to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi

PSL 11 features two matches today as Babar Azam and Rizwan lead teams in Lahore. Multan and Rawalpindi franchises debut while matches to be played without spectators.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Rawalpindiz have won the toss and decided to bat first against Peshawar Zalmi in a match of the eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Peshawar Zalmi is led by Babar Azam, while the Rawalpindi side is being captained by Mohammad Rizwan. The second match will be played at 7 pm.

Mohammad Rizwan shared his thoughts on the pitch and team strategy. Rizwan described the pitch as looking “better,” though he noted that conditions might change as the game progresses.

Rizwan also emphasized his focus on the team, saying, “Our team is new, and we will definitely remember Zaman Khan.” He reaffirmed his role as an opener, stating that regardless of public opinion, he will open the innings and adapt his play according to the team’s needs.

Meanwhile, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam commented on the conditions from his perspective. He said he will also open the innings in this event, describing the pitch as dry and suggesting that it may play similarly across both innings.

Both captains highlighted their intent to lead from the front and adjust their strategies according to the match conditions at Gaddafi Stadium.
