KHAIRPUR (Dunya News) – Police claimed to have killed three robbers having head money for their arrest in an exchange of fire in Tehsil Faiz Gang here on Monday, Dunya News reported.
According to SSP Samiullah, police received a distress call that robbers were looting passenger buses on a road. When police reached the crime scene, the outlaws opened fire on police party, who retaliated in a befitting manner and exterminated three robbers, whereas their accomplices escaped.
The SSP said the alleged bandits were identified as Aqib Shar with Rs4.1m head money, Maula Baksh Shar with Rs3m head money and Mujtaba.
Aqib Shar and Maula Baksh Shar were wanted in more than 30 cases of heinous crimes including extortion, murder, attempted murder and kidnapping for ransom.
Their bodies were sent to hospital for medicolegal procedures, whereas a manhunt was launched for their accomplices who escaped during the encounter.
Weapons and looted valuables were seized from the dead. Further investigation was underway.
