LAHORE (Dunya News) – A man was robbed of Rs21.7million in cash when he was returning home in a rickshaw after selling 2,022 tolas of silver in a market in Shera Kot here on Saturday.
The victim identified as Asghar was injured by two robbers on resistance. According to police, Asghar was returning home after selling silver when he was targeted. He had kept the cash in two bags, which the robbers snatched from him.
The robbers escaped with the cash. The injured citizen was admitted to Jinnah Hospital. Police have started investigation with recording statements from eye witnesses to reach out the robbers.
A few months ago, traders from the Ichhra Gold Market had filed a complaint regarding fraud involving 20 kilograms of gold. Around 40 applications have been received against the accused, while 10 cases have already been registered against Waseem Akhtar at Ichhra police station.
In the case of an alleged 20-kilogram gold fraud in Ichhra, police have recovered nearly two kilograms of gold, short by 16 grams, from accused Waseem Akhtar.
